    Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
    Giuseppe Mengoni designed this unique Milanese shopping mall, completed in 1878, but was killed just days before its grand opening. This shopping mecca has been imitated, but never duplicated.

    Pirelli Tower Milan
    The Pirelli Tower is Italy's tallest building at 127 m (417 ft) tall. An estimated 60,000 tons of concrete was used to erect the skyscraper, which is names after its original owner, Alberto Pirelli, president of the Pirelli Company. Built in 1950, the building is now home to the head offices of the Region of Lombardy.

    Battistero Paleocristiano
    To view the ruins of this ancient, 4th century baptistry, visitors must enter through Milan's Duomo. It is widely believed that this is where Augustine was baptized by Milan's first bishop and patron saint, Saint Ambrose.
